Here we go!

I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out just how I want this to look. Which background, what color scheme, specific fonts, etc. A LOT of time. So, I decided to take a break from all that and make an actual post, already! Although I'm 18 and just graduated and this is technically my last summer before college, I'm not actually going away for school. I'm attending the local community college for two years and planning to transfer to the University of Michigan after that. Which requires a bit of money. So I'm living at home for the next two years. Not exactly my original plan but I guess that's life. Anyway, that does not mean I don't want that "college life" feel, because I do. I really, really do. And what better way to do that than.... GIVE MY ROOM A MAKEOVER. WOO! Seeing all the Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, Ikea, and Pottery Barn ads and commercials and catalogues really did something to me because it seems as if I will not be content until I finally create my dream room, on a budget of course. To start this, last night, I began making a list of all the things I need to do to clean out my room and basically start from scratch. Now, let me just tell you, I am a list girl. I make lists all the time, for absolutely everything. It's almost a problem, but not really :). Anyway, in making this list for my room, I found myself thinking about another list I should make: A summer goal list. Vuela! So far, I only have a few things, but I'm sure that I will add more. Actually, I'll probably even add items as I make the fricking post. That's just me :)

Alright, here we go - my SUMMER 2013 GOAL LIST:

  • LOSE 25 POUNDS
  • MAKEOVER MY ROOM
  • UPDATE MY CLOSET
  • GET ORGANIZED
  • GO TO THE BEACH A WHOLE FREAKIN LOT
  • MAKE MONEY
  • SEE MY FAVORITE BAND
  • READ AT LEAST 20 BOOKS
Okay, a little insight into each goal :)

LOSE 25 POUNDS

I know that for an 18 year old girl, this might seem kind of crazy. BUT. It's something I just really cannot stop wishing I would do. I'm not "fat." I'm actually not even considered overweight for my height. However, I am definitely not "fit" or even happy with how my body looks. Over time, I've grown to love my height of 5'11'', but weighing what I weigh is not something I see myself ever getting used to. I don't want to become a tiny skinny minny with bones everywhere, but I would love to be slim enough to be comfortable in strapless dresses, tank tops, and, most of all, swimsuits. I don't mind finding cute one-pieces, but I would love to be the girl who just throws on a bikini and looks fabulous. So there. First goal. Woo!

MAKEOVER MY ROOM

As I said in the beginning of this post, I'm looking for that dorm room feel. Even better, though, is that it's not in a tiny dorm room that I have to share with anyone else. It's my own, full sized bedroom. Which I find very exciting. :)

UPDATE MY CLOSET

Let's just say I don't wear everything in my closet. Not only that, but there is so much stuff piled on the shelves in there that I don't even know what to do with and it just all needs to be cleaned out. I'd also like to add a little canvas shelving thing to store my ever growing book collection.

GET ORGANIZED

Like just about every other teenager, my room gets messy fast. Really fast. So I'm hoping that once I clean out my room, I can find some organizing tools and keep it clean and neat for long periods of time. Starting with my cd collection. I have so many, and it really hurts me, an avid music lover, to see them just laying around wherever they can fit. Ugh. Maybe this should be goal number one.

GO TO THE BEACH A WHOLE FREAKIN LOT

I do believe this one speaks for itself, actually :). Gimme that lake!

MAKE MONEY
Currently I work a part time job at McDonald's (Exciting, I know hah) and I babysit whenever I can. I love working with kids and it's one of my favorite things to do.

SEE MY FAVORITE BAND

As afore mentioned, I am a huge music fan. I love it. All of it. My favorite band is a group of five best friends from Arizona who call themselves The Maine. I have loved them for about five years now and they are absolutely amazing. I'm seeing them live for the third time this month with my bestie and her parents and I am so incredibly excited. So. EXCITED.

READ AT LEAST 20 BOOKS

I am also a huge bookworm. I love reading. I can read two books in one day and I do it quite a bit actually. I am very busy, though, which is why my goal is for a low number of 20 books. :)

... So, there you have it! My partial summer goal list! I'll be adding more as the summer goes on, I'm sure and will definitely keep you updated on my ventures :)

GO SUMMER!
Also, feel free to comment with your own goals! I'd love to hear!

First post!

Hey there! I feel a kind of excitement as I type my first official blog post! I've wanted a blog since seeing Hilary Duff play a girl named Holly in "The Perfect Man." Seeing as she was my idol throughout..well... my entire childhood, seeing her make so many posts and sit on her laptop writing about her life, you can imagine my constant wishing I could do that just like her. So, finally, here it is. My blog. SWEET!
